1. Purpose and scope
1.1 These Job Posting Guidelines ("Guidelines") set out the standards that apply to every job, project, or lead posted on Thungo ("Job Post") by a client or contractor. They exist to keep the job registry trustworthy for everyone who browses, quotes on, or is quoted for a Job Post.
1.2 The Guidelines apply from the moment a Job Post is created and continue to apply for as long as it remains visible on the platform.
1.3 The Guidelines supplement, and do not replace, the Terms & Conditions. Where the Guidelines and the Terms conflict, the Terms govern.
2. Who may post a job
2.1 Job Posts may be created by registered clients and contractors who meet the eligibility requirements in Terms section 2.
- One Job Post per genuine work opportunity. Duplicate or near-duplicate posts for the same scope of work are not permitted.
- A Job Post must represent work the poster genuinely intends to have carried out or, for a contractor posting on a client’s behalf, genuinely intends to sub-contract.
- Job Posts may not be used to advertise unrelated services, to collect leads for resale, or to test the platform.
3. Required job posting content
3.1 Every Job Post must include:
- A title that clearly describes the trade and scope of work
- A description with enough detail for a qualified contractor to assess the work without a site visit
- A location, at minimum to suburb or city level
- A budget range or indication, or a clear note that the poster needs help estimating
- The relevant trade or specialty category
- Any access, timeline, or safety-relevant constraints known at the time of posting
3.2 Photos, if included, must depict the actual site or work described. Stock imagery presented as the real property is not permitted.
3.3 Contact and communication about a Job Post must stay within Thungo messaging and quoting until both parties agree to proceed off-platform for the awarded engagement.
4. Prohibited content
4.1 A Job Post must not contain or request:
- Illegal work, including unlicensed electrical or gas work where a license is legally required, or unpermitted structural work presented as compliant
- Discriminatory requirements based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Sexual, violent, or otherwise offensive content
- Work unrelated to trades, construction, or home services
- A misleading budget used to attract quotes before negotiating a materially different scope of work
- Personal financial information, such as bank PINs or full card numbers, in the post or in messaging
- Spam, promotion of unrelated products or services, or links to external hiring platforms
- A posting made on behalf of a third party without authority to contract for the work
5. Pricing and quality standards
5.1 A stated budget or estimate should reflect a genuine, good-faith range for the described scope of work.
5.2 Posters should update or close a Job Post promptly once the position is filled, so browse results stay accurate for other users.
5.3 Any quality expectations stated in a Job Post must be objective and non-discriminatory.
6. Review process
6.1 Job Posts are visible immediately on publish. There is no pre-moderation queue; review is reactive, triggered by a user report or a platform admin spot check.
6.2 A platform admin with the appropriate permission reviews a reported or flagged Job Post against these Guidelines.
6.3 Review focuses on the individual Job Post. Action is taken against the posting itself before any account-level step is considered.
7. Measures taken for guideline breaches
7.1 Thungo applies a tiered response to a confirmed breach of these Guidelines:
- Tier
- Tier 1 – Content warning
- Trigger
- Minor breach, such as incomplete required content or unclear pricing
- Action
- Warning sent to the poster with a request to edit the Job Post
- Scope
- Single post
- Tier
- Tier 2 – Post suspension
- Trigger
- Prohibited content, misleading pricing, or repeated Tier 1 breach
- Action
- The Job Post is suspended (unpublished) by a platform admin; poster is notified with the stated reason
- Scope
- Single post, account remains active
- Tier
- Tier 3 – Account review
- Trigger
- Multiple Tier 2 suspensions within a rolling period
- Action
- Manual review of the account by the platform team
- Scope
- Account, manual
- Tier
- Tier 4 – Posting restriction
- Trigger
- Confirmed pattern of violations after Tier 3 review
- Action
- Posting privileges restricted account-wide pending compliance
- Scope
- Account
- Tier
- Tier 5 – Account termination
- Trigger
- Severe or repeated violations, including fraud, illegal content, or a safety risk
- Action
- Account suspended or terminated
- Scope
- Account
7.2 Tier 2 (post suspension) is the measure available to platform admins directly in the product today: an individual Job Post can be suspended without affecting the poster’s account or other posts. Tier 1 and Tiers 3 through 5 describe the wider escalation path and are currently handled manually by the platform team.
8. Appeals process
8.1 A poster whose Job Post is suspended can request reconsideration by replying to the suspension notice, which shows the stated reason on the post detail.
8.2 Where practical, an appeal is reviewed by a platform admin who did not action the original suspension.
8.3 A structured in-app appeals workflow is planned for a future release. Until then, contact supports@thungo.app with the Job Post ID.
9. Reporting a violation
9.1 Anyone who encounters a Job Post that appears to breach these Guidelines can report it through the reporting option on the post.
9.2 Reports are reviewed by the platform team using the process described in section 6.
9.3 Reporting is confidential. A reporter’s identity is not shared with the poster.
10. Changes to these guidelines
10.1 Thungo may update these Guidelines at any time. Material changes are reflected in the effective date shown at the top of this page. Continued posting after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
